Isokon Occasional Table

Isokon Occasional Table

Description

Once thought to be irretrievably lost, isokon’s reissued 1936 Occasional Table is likely the only surviving furniture design by iconic architect Walter Gropius. An early sales leaflet noted, “…the ingenious use of plywood in the legs, and how staunchness and stability are achieved not with extra weight but by perfect balance.” Faithful to the original, it’s handmade in London in birch plywood with a charcoal linoleum tabletop.
