Mathieu Matégot's dual-shelf "Biblio-Démon" as it is listed on his original 1954 sketches was expressly intended for a home library and study. The French designer sought to meet the demands of modern life with the then-novel idea of a modular shelving system which could be combined in multiples as needed. Timeless then and now, the veneered shelves come in natural oak, natural walnut or black-stained ash with distinctive the metal brackets lacquered in black.
